Racism is always going to exist in one way or another. People are always going to view this topic very differently. I personally think that their is always going to be racism in this world. You see it in everyday life. If a group of hispanic guys walk into a store where a white person is working all the attention is going to go to the group of hispanics, just because they are taht race. On the other hand if a group of white guys walk in they are going to be greeted and asked if they need help with anything. I have seen this happen many times. Over spring break since i worked a lot i observed my boss. I know she is not racist because she has me working there and another hispanic girl. But at times when we have a group of hispanic kids she tends to stick around and see what frames they look at and i dont think she does it on purpose its just something that she does. Close minded people are always the ones that never try and see things in a different perspective.

I agree in what you say. I have always been aware of this situation where certain people are treated certain way that others are not. I also believe that when you dont accept others is like not accepting yourself because no one is different form another. It might sound funny but its true I believe we are all created equal, of course we are also not identical. I mean come on we are not twins but hey, there is a reason for the word DIFFERENT to exist. Dont you think?
ReplyDeletesince i work at a store i get a first eye view of what you are saying. i have always notice that most of the attention does go towards hispanics even if it is a mother with her child. i have always gotten the same attention to when all i want to do is buy something. i agree that racism is never going to end and that its always going to be around. for example i know that i have to work harder to get what i want where in another case we always see that white people can easily get it what i mean by this is that at most of the job white people always have higher positions even when colored people have been there longer thatn them.

ReplyDeleteI agree with your view about race. I had visited different states in the last few years and this matter in expressed differently depending on the ratio of the racial backgrounds. Other places like HI for instance, it is so diversed with many different races and people tend not to pay attention too much anymore unlike places like here, the ratio is very different. I think that "stereotyping" is the big problem. I do like your last sentence also and I tend to stay away from those people just because they are not considerate enough to other people. Good view overall!
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you are saying with people of different ethnicity other than white will get treated differently in stores and other public places. I have been treated differently in stores like the example you gave so I know exactly what you are talking about.
